THE BAHAMAS ADVENTURE

12/17/00 (Sunday)
Today
was a day of rest. We just hung out at the marina and enjoyed the
facilities. We went to the pool but the water was too cold. However,
the sun was warm and an even breeze made laying in the sun very comfortable.
For lunch we went back to the boat. After lunch, Ron and Diane went
back to the pool. I decided to take a nap and slept for 2 hours before
getting up. Walking out on deck, I light up a cigar and just sit back and
enjoy the day.
Later it's back to the Spinnaker restaurant for another good meal. The
restaurant was empty. Our waiter told us that the season picks up after the
new year.
Back at the boat, the mighty fisherman Ron finally catches a fish off the
back of the boat. Using a piece of salami as bate, he catches the fish in
about 30 seconds after dropping the hook. This is the first and last fish
of the trip. Apparently the other fish now know that salami is a dangerous
food.
It's another night without TV or even local radio. I can get some skip
stations from Chicago, St. Louse, New York, etc. but they constantly fade out
after 10 minutes of so. I do miss the TV...
