THE BAHAMAS ADVENTUREPage 1112/18/00 (Monday) We fueled up the boat and left Treasure Cay this morning around 10AM heading for Great Guana Cay. The northern end of this cay is uninhabited and has some of the nicest beaches in the Bahamas.We arrived after 1 1/2 hours of sailing and anchored off about 200 feet from shore in shallow water. The three of us piled into the dingy when Diane tried to climb back on the boat and fell overboard. We retrieved her and stated paddling toward shore.The shore of this cay was composed of sand beaches and razor sharp coral patches. We hiked a half mile around to the East side of the cay to a beautiful beach about 2 miles long. The turquoise waves were breaking on the white sands and there was no other person in sight.It was an exhausting walk over sand and coral but well worth the effort. The seas breaking over the coral outcroppings through spray 30 feet into the air. It was an all natural vision. One that never saw the hand of man.We ate lunch back onboard and then headed for Marsh Harbor about 10 miles away. Pulling into March Harbor we found ourselves to be one of about 50 boats in the harbor. We anchored and dinged to shore for a little walk. We walked into town looking for a Pizza Hut that has a conch topping! After a couple of miles and no sign of the hut we grabbed a cab and headed back to a restaurant near where we tied off the dingy.After dinner we piled back into the dingy and with me rowing proceeded to cover the entire harbor looking for Seaclusion.
